Paris "The City of Light"

Paris was nicknamed the “City of Light” (not City of Lights) originally because it was a vast center of education and ideas during the Age of Enlightenment. In 1828, Paris began lighting the Champs-Elysées with gas lamps. It was the first city in Europe to do so, and so earned the nickname “La Ville–Lumière” or The City of Light. Two hundred years on, Paris still presents a truly pretty picture at night, as can be seen from my photo.

But if you have a little bit of time to devote to the thing, you know, the thing, the one that really matters, the one of taking your time for the things you love, then it's very different and that's detail becomes important. This photo shows our cathedral seen from the edge of Seine
